Your Thursday Weather Forecast for Sept. 7, 2023

Time. Now for a look at the weather, as we mentioned earlier in the show, Hurricane Lee is on watch as it could turn into a category five hurricane plus temperatures still high in most of the country. But incoming thunderstorms should give us a break. At least here in the east. Here's your forecast. Meteorologist Samantha, a with your latest chatter weather update. We've got some hot stuff today, especially across the south. You see in Texas to Florida, temperatures in the nineties and all up along the east coast where it has just been hot and humid to kick off the school year for many. We are also going to be looking at the tropics here. Hurricane Lee could turn into a category five hurricane by the end of the week into the weekend as it's going to be tracking east of the island and eventually just up along the east coast, bringing some rough conditions on the water. We'll have big waves, rip currents and possibly some coastal flooding. That's what we're going to be watching next week. As for right now, it's quiet in the Midwest to the northwest, but along the east coast, we do have some scattered showers and storms that could be developing late today with the hot and humid weather in place. We could be looking at some thunderstorms packing a punch with heavy rain and gusty winds in upstate New York and down into parts of the south here and the same thing for your Friday into the weekend. So it does get a little bit unsettled in the meantime, it's nice and quiet across the Midwest. Now, later on in the weekend, the showers and storms here along the east coast will eventually put an end to the hot weather. It's still going to be humid and then you start to see hurricane Lee there on the corner of your screen, the west coast is looking pretty good. This is by Sunday and Monday, you'll have some nice sunshine across the north while the on and off showers will continue across parts of the northeast. So today we have hot weather, Philadelphia 96 93 in New York City with that sunshine talking about hot. Check it out. 106 in Dallas, 102 in Houston. Feeling like 100 in New Orleans and across the northwest, it is a little bit cooler. Seattle 72. Very nice. Today from San Francisco to Los Los Angeles with temperatures in the seventies.
