This fall, online learning platform Quizlet updated several of its products for the back-to-school season. The biggest update was the diagram feature, which allows students to use interactive models to study and practice. Since this rollout, already a quarter of a million diagrams have been created by its users. Quizlet CEO Matthew Glotzbach attributes this scale of early adoption to serving an obvious need. Currently there are 30 million monthly active users on the platform. There are 140 million study sets available. The key demographic of Quizlet users are high school and college students, says Glotzbach. But the company is seeing a rise in people looking to improve vocational education, especially in science, technology, engineering, and math. The platform uses artificial intelligence to improve its system every day. Glotzbach says he isn't trying to replace human teachers, but to supplement individual student-teacher experiences, and build an A.I. powered tutor to help anyone learn anything.
