Like millions of Americans, you are probably seeing a flood of emails hit your inbox on Cyber Monday. Retailers are offering deals, discounts, and even specific items. John Hall, Co-Founder and CEO of content marketing company Influence and Co., shares how these marketing campaigns can help or hurt consumer engagement. Cyber Monday is on track to become the largest online shopping day ever in the U.S., according to Adobe Analytics. Overall web traffic is up 12%, with the season average at 5.7%. During the holidays, its even more important to develop a real long-term relationship with customers, says Hall. Consumers now recognize that products they have searched appear in new social media feeds and emails as advertisements. Hall says that for this strategy to work, it is imperative to personalize these interactions.
