Roar for Good is the tech company making wearables that they hope will make the world safer for women. Co-founder and COO Anthony Gold joins Cheddar to discuss Roar's landmark new product Athena. The safety device features real-time location tracking, allowing emergency contacts to be instantly notified at the push of a button. It also features an alarm mode for deterring attacks.

Gold reveals the origins behind the company. It all started when co-founder and CEO Yasmine Mustafa suffered a frightening encounter on a trip abroad to South America. After a successful Kickstarter campaign, Athena officially hit the market this past summer, and Gold says sales have been surging ever since.

He also elaborates on how Roar is not just a tech firm. The company is also committed to social outreach endeavors, promoting educational initiatives to promote safety. He explains exactly how Roar is giving back to the community, and what products it has planned down the road.
