National Weather Forecast: July 6, 2023

I'm Samantha Jerry. With your latest chatter weather update. We are tracking some severe weather today. The chance for severe thunderstorms bringing large hail, damaging winds and possibly a tornado and this area that you see shaded from brown to yellow here from Colorado into Kansas and Oklahoma. So these storms will be firing up this afternoon with the heat and humidity that we have in place and you can see that here on the future cast the bright colors popping up later on today. So just keep an eye to the sky, make sure you have a plan that the storms are head in your direction. Now, meantime, along the east coast, it's very warm. It's very humid but a couple of scattered showers overall, nothing too major happening for the time being. The west coast looks nice as we head into the weekend here, dry weather and nice warm weather but not too hot, not too humid. We are watching that storm threat track through the Midwest here for Saturday into Sunday, heading into the northeast. So by Sunday night into Monday, the northeast will get some much needed rain down along the east coast as well with some unsettled weather to kick off next week and we will see some of those thunderstorms developing possibly severe weather in the Ohio River Valley. All right. Temperatures for today. The heat is on topping out near 90 in New York City, Washington DC. 91 and 86 in Cincinnati with a storm popping up for the afternoon today in New Orleans, 88 degrees, 94 in Orlando, Miami, you're topping out in the nineties as well. So we have this widespread heat. L A looking nice at 68 but it's 106 in Las Vegas today. Lots of sunshine from Salt Lake City as well. Seattle, nice and warm for you but nice and dry. Lots of sunshine temperatures in the upper eighties to near 90.
