Samsung TV Plus Releases New Channel With Conan O'Brien 

Thanks so much for joining us, Eileen. So tell me about bringing Conan o'brien TV to Samsung TV Plus. Yeah. So we're really excited to have you here. We just launched today, the Conan o'brien TV channel. You can only watch it on Samsung TV Plus. So we're actually here in New York just celebrating and we'll have an event for the fans really giving them what they love, which is Conan 24 7. So there's so much to watch on TV these days. What are you doing to make sure that Samsung TV Plus stands out? Yeah, I mean, the, the really unique thing about Samsung TV Plus is that it is built into your TV. So you are able to immediately be dropped into a TV, viewing experience. And so the constant work that my team and I do is trying to bring a discovery to all of the content because we have over 250 channels and thousands of shows and movies and there's a lot of great content out there. So our hard work is let's let's show the fans and viewers what they want to watch. We're seeing so much consolidation in the streaming space, we have Max now, which is HBO Max Plus Discovery Plus, you have Paramount Plus combining with show time. Why do you think this is happening right now? You know, I, I think fast has really presented a new business opportunity for content creators. Uh There's, it's a new way that they can bring back old catalogs, bring the and package them up in a very unique way. So you start to see in fast uh the the of binge channels and you can actually deep dive into your favorite shows, like whether it's like Baywatch or Operation Repo and, and whatever shows that you might want to watch, um they're packaged in a, in an interesting way. So I think these content creators are just seeing all the opportunity in fast and how they can make their content just live on even after uh you know, it's premiered and gone through its cycle. Do you think seeing so many different streamers in this space is a good thing for Samsung TV Plus because you're kind of agnostic in a way because you can bring in a lot of different channels. Absolutely. I, I think we're, we're in a unique space. Um You know, where the platform on Samsung TV S our main priority is trying to bring premium experiences to our users. So how can we keep them entertained, get them to their entertainment faster? So you mentioned fast, which is free ad supported TV. And you guys are one of the early adopters and now everyone has ads. So why do you think the industry is kind of moving towards this ad supported model? Yeah, you know, I think we're, we're going to see fast mature definitely in like the next couple of years. Um even back in 2016, you know, that's when Samsung TV plus started and even since then it's matured so much the difference I've seen as of late and with all the new entrants is that it's opening up more opportunity for more premium content on fast. So I think we all win. In this case. Do you think consumers are OK with watching ads in their TV experience? Yeah. You know, you start to see in, in the news, all of the, the new streaming um services that are bringing out their fast services. Um and there's a lot of pick up of people are willing to pay less to watch ads. And the great thing about Samsung TV Plus is that we offer that for free. Um You don't have to subscribe to anything. You don't even need to create an account. There's no credit card, you just turn on your TV and you jump into this free ad supported service. Now, what's I know you just launched Conan? But what else is up next? Yeah, so we actually, so we launch new channels every single month and in addition to new channels, we also launch new free movies. So we have just an extensive catalog. Um and we're licensing movies and bringing them from Lionsgate Paramount, like there's just tons of, of different movies, but we recently just launched Draftkings and L O L Network. Um So those are really two exciting launches that we've recently had. It brings uh kind of niche audiences, fans of those uh of those brands and comedians. And of course, with the arrival of Conan o'brien TV, uh we have two of the biggest comedians on the Samsung TV plus platform.
