'The Afterparty' Cast Talks Season 2 

And welcome back friends who need to know from Cheddar Studios in Lower Manhattan and Baker Machado, right? Murder mystery comedy series. The After Party is back for its second season. And this time around a wedding weekend is bringing together all familiar and new characters. And our West Coast correspondent caught up with the cast and creators. We got a dead body and a whole lot of people to talk to. What's your name? You fine as hell Travis. In season two of the murder mystery comedy series, the after Party, a wedding becomes the scene of the crime and every guest is a suspect Tiffany had Sam Richardson and Zoe Chow are back on the case with new characters played by Ken Jung, John Cho and Elizabeth Perkins. When you come on screen, there is so much joy that comes through. I got a job, be happy to have the employment. You know, it, it's hard out here had returns as Danny, a former detective called in to solve the murder of the groom, a tech Titan played by Zach Woods for Danner. What do you think it is that lends itself to such great comedy in this character. Well, I think there's such great comedy in this character because she's pretty grounded. But she's like, she's quirky. She's a little weird. She's not normal. Ok, because she's really, she, you know, she wants to be an artist kind of, but really she wants to just solve problems and bring joy. Like, that's how I see her as, like the type of person that's like, yeah, we're dealing in this bad thing but I want to give closure to people, which is a, which is a form of joy, Zach. I'm so intrigued by your character Edgar. What was your inspiration for Edgar? I was on a TV show that about tech guys for a while and I would meet all of these guys, some of whom are really lovely and then some of whom would look like, look at you like a terminator. They would just sort of scan you, you could see they were sort of evaluating you, your assets and your liabilities. It was such a weird feeling. I've been doing that to you all day, just rampant objectification. And that's when you look like when you've got a body like this, it's just part and parcel with the daily life. But I think uh those guys reminded me of Edgar. Two new faces to the cast are Jack Whitehall and Paul Walter Houser. What was it like to be on this set for this project? Because there are so many funny people, including yourself it was great. Yeah, I mean, I was a huge admirer of a lot of the other talent that was involved in this project from the writers to the other actors. And it was a great atmosphere though. It was a lot of comedians, but it wasn't ever a sense of people kind of being sharp Ward and trying to trample on each other to get their bits in. It was very collaborative and I think everyone wanted to bring out the best in each other. We definitely played with each other and tried to make each other break on occasion. Who, who do you think made people great? I think you, I think definitely you, I feel like you maybe Tiffany or I don't know, but it was, it was very, very fun. It was a fun and the show's creative team says there's no shortage of ideas for seasons to come in your ideal scenario. How many who done its do you think are in store for the after party? Uh in an infinite number? I mean, there's so many ways to die. Uh But, you know, we uh we have lots of ideas for a third season. Obviously, we're in the middle of a writer strike right now, which I hope uh will be resolved soon and the A MP TP will come to the table. But um there's so many, there's so many ways to tell a story cinematically. Um In the third season, the, the it's a very uneventful after party where people have a really nice time. Nobody does.
