Tomato Festival Leaves Spanish Town Covered in Pulp

In case you missed it. An annual food fight festival in Spain left the streets covered in tomato pulp as 15,000 people hurled tomatoes at each other. The Tomatina event took place in the eastern town of Beal. Workers and trucks tipped 120 tons tons of overripe tomatoes into the main street for people to throw, throw. The festival was inspired by a food fight between local Children back in 1945 in the town which is located in a tomato producing region. The tomato battle goes on for about an hour. I can't imagine how long it takes to clean this up, but it seems like so much fun. Tickets for the event were $13.
